COFFEE BREAK

piping hot & cold

while walking around little italy, we found a chic cafe to take a break in. we wanted the table by the window, but there were two ladies who took forever to leave the spot. i think we went around the block three times before we finally saw the table vacant. sheesh...

anyway, the wait paid off. look at how glorious the beautiful the sun was shining at the cafe...

we love the window of caffé roma!

iced coffee latté for buko, hot choco for ichigo, and capuccino for mr. roboto.

i prefer italian pastries over french ones. the rainbow-colored cookie is divine! i wish i asked what it was.

mr. roboto: "go ahead, make my day."

'chairs' by mr. roboto

ichigo: "let's order more cookies, mom!"
buko: "ask your dad."
ichigo: *afraid*

moments at the corner cafe

chillin' like villains
bbb... bad to the bone!
i love this photo that my husband took of aryanna. she looks badass with those shades, her pose, along with the magnum gun and muscle man posters in the background. this snap was taken a few streets from the cafe.

on ichigo: oakley sunglasses (borrowed from dad), topshop 'plastic toys need hugs too' t-shirt, viktor jeans, zara scarf, fingerless glove (freebie), converse red chucks, mbmj bag, and cat plushie.

beware of the cookie bandit
on buko: dior round sunnies, topshop oversize tee, american apparel leggings, fingerless gloves from giordano concepts, and boots bought in hong kong.

LITTLE ITALY, BIG APPETITE

molto buono!

when in new york, go italian!

giovanna's

we love italian bread baskets, and the secret to a good one is salty butter!

aryanna ordered lasagna. her verdict: "too much sauce, too little beef, but swimming in cheese-- that's a good thing!"

tom and i shared a quattro formaggi pizza. our verdict: "it was good, but we made it better by adding aryanna's overflowing lasagna sauce to it.

burnt bubble marks on the pizzas are good.

mr. roboto: "italian beer is best served, over and over, and over..."

mr. roboto: "nothing comes between me and my bira amoretti."

serious...

OPENING NIGHT!

tom: cool as ice

my husband's opening night at tyler rollins fine art would probably be considered one of the most memorable events of our lives.

the show was successful and ichigo and buko are very proud of mr. roboto!

here are some photos during the event:

tyler rollins and tom

tom's exhibit will be frozen in time in our hearts

tom's girls: aryanna, jenni and naomi. lol

awww... aryanna and tom look so cute!
on ichigo: zara sweater, better than bare polka dot dress, topshop heart bag, black tights and red converse sneaks. on mr. roboto: levi's tattered denim jacket, marc by marc jacobs t-shirt, zara checkered pants, converse by john varvatos multi-eyelet sneaks

we are family: ryan (my bro), buko, ichigo, mr. roboto, and sheryl (my sis-in-law), she's preggy! we can't wait for aryanna to have another cousin.

our friend marcel, who is a huge art collector, flew to ny to support tom. we are very grateful for his support!

over 300 hundred guests graced the event! wow!

yay!
tom's exhibit ended around 9:30 p.m. and we were ecstatic on how it all turned out. :D

MANILA BUT NOT IN MANILA

walk. turn. walk. stop.

i would like to thank designer rhett eala for creating a 'manila' graffiti cupcake skirt for aryanna. she loves it, rhett!

on our way to have breakfast at a diner that tom found tucked somewhere in the concrete buildings of downtown, i decided to take some random shots of aryanna while walking. this is what i observed...

walk.

turn.

walk.

stop.

walk.

interesting... don't you think?

on ichigo: leather jacket from tita she, custom-made 'manila' graffitti cupcake skirt from collezione by rhett eala, black satin sash, leggings from sm department store, converse silver sequins sneakers and mbmj miss marc bag.

STYLIST AND THE CITY

"hi, pat field!"

after having lunch at whole foods (our favorite) in bowery, i dragged my husband to the store of 'sex and the city's' super stylist, patricia field. her store was a stone's throw away from the organic grocery- a must-visit when in nyc.

i love pat field! she is always on the ball on what's cool.

i always knew i would meet her one day, but i didn't realize that it would be the day i visited her shop. how can one miss the woman with fiery red hair? as soon as i walked in the shop, i gravitated towards her and introduced myself. she was very nice, accommodating and did i say cool? she was.

pat and i :D

pat: "i like your skirt!
buko: "it's a dress, but i wear it as a skirt. i bought all colors!"
pat: "good decision."
buko: *almost passes out* lol

house of field clutch
i missed out on buying this pat field clutch a few years ago when rustan's had them, because my friend cellini beat me to the punch. she bought the canary yellow version, but i think prefer this electric blue edition!

i was able to muster up enough courage to ask ms. field to sign the clutch i bought. although, she struggled to wedge the sharpie inside the clutch. lol thanks, ms. field! :D

i'm a happy camper :D

this is what i finally wore to my husband's opening night.

on buko:
tango black knitted dress, topshop checkered stockings, giambattista valli shoes, gold swatch, jô by joyce oreña rubber bracelet charm (not seen in the photo), and my new signed pat field clutch.

WHAT TO WEAR?

sweet. valli. high.

i want to wear something special for my husband's show opening tonight. so far, this is what i have in mind...

maybe it's time to bust out my new giambattista valli shoes! :D

hmm... i think i should have cleaned the mirror first before i started shooting :D anyway, my husband thought that the specs on the mirror gave the photo character. i concur.

sweet.

valli.

high.

on buko: tango knitted black dress, topshop checkered tights, and giambattista valli shoes.

i only have two more hours to make a decision. this is going to be fun...

LIVE. LOVE. DREAM.

wooo...

buko: "it takes a courageous person to live, love and dream.
when you believe, you will have the courage."

mr. roboto: "it's never just black or white. it just seems like it."

jenny holzer, artist: "...we began to live..."

buko: "life is like looking through rainbow-colored glasses."

ichigo:
"all these things make me go hmm..." :D
